| The York Time Institute was founded by Daniel Nied in order to address the tremendous shortage of qualified watch and clock makers in the United States. The Institute is housed in a 150 year old building in Historic York, Pa. Historical research on the building revealed that two other watchmakers had been located there in the late 1800's. Other well-known watch and clock makers, including Jonathan Jessop and Elisha Kirk practiced their trade nearby. The Institute is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and offers a 54 week Diploma Program in Horological Conservation, Restoration and Repair, as well as customized weekend and evening courses for horological professionals, collectors and hobbyists. We can also tailor a program for your group. Children's programs are also part of the diverse business of the York Time Institute.
